Teaser Tuesday 9/27/11

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I have been working on Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series so here is a teaser from The City of Ashes!
"...Pulling the wings off flies, poisoning the earth's water supply-I was covering that stuff in kindergarten. I guess we're all lucky my father ***** *** *** ***** (died) before he got to the raping and pillaging part of my education, or no one would be safe." -Jace

Okay, I starred out a part because if you haven't read the first book, then it gives something away, but if you have then you know what happened to his father. You've got to love Jace and his very sarcastic attitude! :)

Tell me your teaser!

Sultry Saturday 9/10/11

Every Saturday you can come here and post a comment telling us your current fictional character crush and why you are crushing on them. Don't forget to tell us the book they are from. So lets start Sultry Saturday!

I am reading Cassandra Clare's City of Bones with my little sister, so this week I'll go with the very mysterious Jace Wayland.

It doesn't matter how many times I read this book, I always find Jace very arrogantly funny. He was actually my inspiration for an abstract art project in interior design. He has a very mysterious, sharp, and jagged outside, but a hurting, soft, and smooth inside. He only acts like he doesn't care, but he honestly does. That completely melts my heart :D I love reading about Jace whether it's my first time or my hundredth. Jace is totally worth it.
